Uggh! Ever have a “friend’s” copy of office on a machine, then you really buy one and want to put the serial number on, but Microosft makes it difficult to change the serial number. Well, one way to do it is to toss the “officepid” file away, but it’s invisible so you gotta find it and toss it. Then you have to toss the Micorosft Preferences folder in the home directory. No biggie really, but the TRICK IS THIS!
Find the “Remove Office” application (just search for it in Spotlight) and open it up. Hold the option key and the continue button changes to Remove Licensing Information Only. It’s quite mac like.
