It is very simple now to install Windows XP on any new Intel Macintosh. But my question to you is why? I mean Windows is an awful operating system. Don’t bother unless… you need a CAD program or some online poker game that only works on Windows.
There are 2 current ways it works.
FIRST WAY
Use Apple Boot Camp software. This means your drive is partitioned into two operating systems. When you turn on the computer you pick which one you want to work with.
SECOND WAY
Parallels software. This is the cooler way to go. It costs $79.99 and allows you to run Windows XP while you’re using OS X. If you have a Mac Pro tower you’ll find it to be plenty fast to run whatever you need. It runs pretty darn well with the Mac Books also.
THIRD FUTURE WAY
It’s called Crossover and it runs Windows programs seamlessly within the OS X framework. It’s best for those that need to run only one program that needs Windows. It’s in beta now.
